From the Loire with Love
Clinging to the vast Loire river, the Loire Valley wine region traverses multiple different climates, terrains, and soil types running from the Atlantic ocean to deep within France’s interior. It can be mind-boggling trying to narrow down Loire wines to just a few examples, but we are up for that challenge and hope you are too.
Tonight we will be tasting 8 wines that all touch a unique part of this mighty region, and we will delve deeper into why these wines are so unique to their different pockets of the Loire. Come join us for a laid back night of Champagne revelry as we showcase 4 different champagnes from the RM producer Champagne Marx-Coutelas & Fils! This will be an informal meet-and-greet hosted by Vinejoy Chicago alongside winemaker Bryan Marx where they will pour 2 non-vintage and 2 vintage-dated single-vineyard champagnes while chatting about what’s in your glass. All you have to do it sit back, sip, and relax!
There will also be the option to purchase the wines for retail afterwards.

Le Midi is having a collaboration dinner! Join us at Dimo’s Café in Lincoln Square for a 5-course Italian wine dinner. We are thrilled to have a large enough dining room and kitchen to execute a tasting menu prepared by Chef Steve Hofstad which will have wines chosen specifically from Le Midi to complement each course. Seth will also be present to chat about the pairings to help guide you through the evening.

R. Pouillon Champagne Tasting
What better time to get ahead of the New Year’s Eve shenanigans than with a Champagne tasting! And not just any Champagne - one of the darlings of the region and a favorite in the hearts of Champagne lovers around the world.
Le Midi was very lucky to be able to get its hands on just a few of these highly allocated bottles that we feel we’d be remiss to not have our customers have the opportunity to try. Sadly there are not many of these bottles out there so the post-tasting purchasing option will be very limited but you can at least now go through life saying you got to try six of R. Pouillon’s best bottles side by side!
#YOLO Tasting
As many of you already know, we have a special weekly off-menu wine series where we open bottles that aren’t your everyday quaffers and offer them to our guests by the glass. We definitely believe in waiting for that special occasion to open that rare bottle, but sometimes just living life should be a celebration in of itself, and as a result, we have to remember just open those bottles and enjoy them!

Weingut Keller Tasting
For many wine lovers, Weingut Keller needs no introduction. Le Midi has been a supporter of this iconic winery since our opening and have recently been wowing our customers with a rare by-the-glass pour of their Chardonnay/Weißburgunder that has been a staff favorite and a top seller since we introduced it to the list. As a result, we have been given a unique opportunity to present our guests a tasting of Keller’s other famous wines hosted by Keller’s importer Candid Wines.
This is a one-of-a-kind tasting that is rarely offered so Le Midi is overjoyed to be able to host a tasting of this caliber to our guests. Included in the lineup is Keller's new bottlings of a single-vineyard Sylvaner as well as their Spätburgunders (Pinot Noir) for the red wine lovers!

RM Champagne Series: Tasting with Champenois Adrien Bergère
Adrien Bergère is a young Champagne vigneron who is making huge waves in the region with his incredible wines that have finally made it to Chicago through Grand Cru Selections. Le Midi is very proud to host Adrien for his first in-person tasting in Chicago guiding us through five of his his handmade small-production Champagnes that are already taking off in the US market.
Based in the Vallée du Petit Morin, Côte du Sézanne, and Côte des Blancs, Adrien is the next generation in a vigneron family that dates back to 1848. He is in the process of converting all of the family vineyards to be certified organic and has brought in his keen eye for vine management and cellaring. The result are wines of incredible charisma and finesse.
Join us for this unique opportunity to meet Adrien and learn about his story and why his wines are a stand-out in the realm of the world’s best sparkling wines. The wines will be available for purchase at the end of the tasting and what we don’t have on hand we can easily order for later pick-up.
Rare Japanese Whiskey Tasting
In the spirit of the month of spirits, we are starting an annual spirit tasting in October for all of our lovers of things not-wine related. For those in the whiskey know, Japan has quickly become a go-to for some of the highest quality and rarest bottles in the world, and tonight we are going to be tasting some of these rare and delicious gems. Join us as Master Sommelier Ken Fredrickson does a deep dive of these rare bottles with us!
Just a few of the distilleries we will be exploring: Akashi, Ichiro, Mars.
Since it is also Halloween, there may have to be a showing of some kitschy Japanese horror film playing in the background. Kanpai!

Riesling may have gotten its start in Germany and Austria, but this noble varietal has made its mark all over the world exhibiting multiple nuances that each country imparts onto it. This is a grape that has seduced wine-lovers for hundreds of years and there’s no better place to see why than at Le Midi.
