Founded in 2024, Académie brings together winemaker Thomas Savre, Dominique Lafon, Bertrand and Anne-Sophie de Villaine, and Joshua Wludyka around a deceptively simple idea: apply the rigor and sensitivity of great Burgundian winemaking to Oregon without trying to make “Burgundy in Oregon.” Instead, they explore what Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can become when individual Willamette Valley vineyards are treated with the same seriousness Burgundy gives its crus.
The project has two expressions: Ostia Tempore is generous, accessible, and immediately pleasurable—wines made for the table. Académie is cerebral and cellar-oriented, focusing on limited-production Chardonnay and Pinot Noir intended to explore individual terroirs and evolve with age.
Your tasting experience includes 5 tasting pours of these select wines:
2025 Ostia Tempore Willamette Valley Chardonnay The approachable Chardonnay of the project: bright, energetic, and generous
2025 Ostia Tempore Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Savre and de Villaine's table-oriented expression of Oregon Pinot: elegant and aromatic
2025 Ostia Tempore Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Honoris A more elevated expression within Ostia Tempore, giving greater depth and seriousness
2024 Académie Willamette Valley Chardonnay Ferveur A much more serious, age-worthy Chardonnay and a particularly exciting introduction to the Académie style: lean, precise, and mineral rather than overtly rich
2024 Académie Willamette Valley Pinot Noir L'Attente A limited, cellar-oriented Pinot Noir emphasizing structure, savory complexity, and the Willamette Valley's cooler expression of the grape
