Celler Pardas "Negre Franc”

PENEDÈS, SPAIN |  2019

Celler Pardas is a partnership between two friends, Ramon Parera and Jordi Arnan. In 1996 they discovered and purchased Finca Can Comas, a very special Masía (Catalan Farmhouse), surrounded by vineyards and agriculture. They've dedicated themselves to local grapes such as Xarel.lo and Sumoll, but also work with Bordeaux varietals such as Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. While they haven't found themselves included in the "cool kids" group of natural wine in the Penedès, these two are as committed as any one else in the region to organic farming, and producing wines of terroir. They are flat out, great wines.

"Negre Franc" is the flagship red wine of Pardas. It is a blend of 80% Cabernet Franc, along with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is fermented in concrete tanks, and aged mainly in second and third use French oak, 300 and 500 liters in size.

This is truly a delicious vintage of Negre Franc. Full-bodied with plenty of black and red berry notes, herbs, and cocoa notes. Drink now with grilled ribeye steaks, or even hold on to a few bottles as this will continue to evolve through 2029.
